Scholarship in memory of
MAUREEN E. CALLAHAN
Maureen loved life and had a passion for history. She devoted countless hours to the Warwick Historical Society and was a well respected historian, as well as a life-long community activist. Maureen was a tireless, staunch supporter of human rights. Her efforts through the last three decades insured our rights as Rhode Islanders to open space, public access to water, preservation of historical landmarks, public education, responsible government, and healthcare reform, and will never be forgotten.
Maureen received her bachelors degree from Rhode Island College as a registered nurse, a masters in nursing from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a law degree from Southern New England School of Law. Her professional career was dominated by thirty-four years of service as a dedicated healthcare professional in Rhode Island Hospital.
Maureen's generosity, kindness, authenticity, and compassion toward all will truly be missed. Maureen was committed to the people of the City of Warwick, her friends, her family, and her colleagues. We love you 'Princess Mo'.
